The Shire Hall, Llandeilo

The Shire Hall at Carmarthen Street, Llandeilo was built in 1802. The ground floor of the building was used as a corn market and the room above it, of the same area was used as the court room. Also on the first floor were two retiring rooms and another room on a lower elevation was used as an armoury. The back part of the ground floor consisted of a store room and two cells for prisoners.

Prior to the Shire Hall being built, legislative affairs were carried out at the long room at the back of Manchester House. The Shire Hall building is now used by the Dyfed Archaeological Trust.
